O abandono de animais é uma prática cada vez mais frequente no Amazonas. Nestas épocas que antecedem as férias de fim de ano, o problema aumenta já que as pessoas acabam comprando um animal por impulso para presentear membros da família, no entanto, o presente nem sempre é bem-vindo ou viável para aquela residência.
Para tentar amenizar essa realidade, a deputada Joana Darc (PL), propôs a criação da campanha “Dezembro Verde” no Estado, por meio da Lei 4.898 de 30 de julho de 2019 que faz parte do Calendário Oficial do Amazonas.
Para dar início a programação será realizada nesta terça-feira (3), a partir das 18h, a solenidade de abertura oficial, com acendimento das Luzes Verdes no hall da Assembleia Legislativa do Amazonas (Aleam). “Todos os dias eu e minha equipe recebemos centenas de pedidos de ajuda de várias partes da cidade e de outros municípios, para resgatar animais que foram abandonados em algum local. É muito comum vermos ninhadas inteiras de cães ou gatos serem descartados em feiras, parques ou praças, em frente a clínicas veterinárias e pet shops, e muitos outros lugares. Por isso, ressalto o tamanho da relevância desta campanha de combate e conscientização para a sociedade civil”, destacou a deputada.
A primeira edição do Dezembro Verde no Amazonas será realizada através da Comissão de Meio Ambiente Proteção aos Animais e Desenvolvimento Sustentável (Caama) da Aleam, presidida por Joana Darc. E terá como objetivo incentivar a prevenção ao abandono dos animais, propagando o tema e aplicando recursos visuais de impacto, sensibilizar que o abandono de animais é uma conduta criminosa, que além de ser um ato cruel que pode levar o animal abandonado a óbito e ainda colaborar positivamente para reduzir o índice de acidentes com os animais.
“São muitos animais abandonados, perdidos ou em situação de rua no nosso Estado, não existe uma estimativa precisa, mas é visível nas ruas de Manaus e também nos municípios. Por isso, precisamos conscientizar as pessoas sobre o abandono de animais. Isso porque, mesmo sendo considerado crime, esse ato acontece com frequência no país” ressaltou a parlamentar.
