Juros do cheque especial estão limitados a 8% a partir desta segunda
Os juros do cheque especial está limitado a 8% ao mês, a partir de hoje. A decisão de reduzir as taxas dessa modalidade de crédito, ocorreu no fim de novembro em reunião do Conselho Monetário Nacional (CMN). No mesmo período, os juros do cheque estavam em 12,4% ao mês, o que equivalia a mais de 306 por cento ao ano.
Para compensar essa redução, o Conselho Monetário Nacional autorizou que as instituições financeiras cobrem, a partir do dia primeiro de julho deste ano, tarifa de 0,25% de quem tem limite do cheque especial maior que 500 reais por mês. A taxa será descontada do valor devido em juros do cheque especial.
Segundo o Banco Central, as mudanças no teto de juros pretende tornar o cheque especial mais eficiente e menos prejudicial para população mais pobre. Para a autoridade monetária, as mudanças no cheque especial vão corrigir falhas de mercado nessa modalidade de crédito.
